MKE Week 17 – Give Intuition a Royal Welcome

Intuition is important, right?  So, how can we give Intuition a Royal Welcome?  That is, be so friendly with Intuition, that she wants to hang out with you all the time?  To be there to give you good advice on all kinds of things?  I like to think of Intuition as a person, maybe with 4 faces or facets: Intuition, Insight, Imagination, and Inspiration.  Or maybe four sisters.  Whatever the image, it means tapping into Infinite Intelligence.

In Part 17 of the Master Key, Haanel give us a framework to invite or welcome Intuition into our lives.  First I want to share what Haanel says about Intuition, which reveals why it is so important, so powerful.

Intuition arrives at conclusions without the aid of experience or memory.  Intuition often solves problems that are beyond the grasp of the reasoning power.  Intuition often comes with a suddenness that is startling; it reveals the truth for which we are searching, so directly that it seems to come from a higher power.  Intuition can be cultivated and developed; in order to do this it must be recognized and appreciated; if the intuitive visitor is given a royal welcome when he comes, he will come again; the more cordial the welcome the more frequent his visits will become, but if he is ignored or neglected he will make his visits few and far apart.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:23

Who wouldn’t want to cultivate that?  What else does Mr Haanel say?  How do you give Intuition a Royal Welcome?  The next paragraph holds one clue:

Intuition usually comes in the Silence; great minds seek solitude frequently; it is here that all the larger problems of life are worked out.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:24

During the Master Key Experience, we have been encouraged to sit in silence for 15 minutes each day, as part of the lessons from Haanel.  We call it “The Sit” and the more I do it, the more I enjoy it, and the more often I get those flashes of Intuition.  But what should you do during the Sit?  Haanel urges us many times to concentrate.  Here are a few examples this week:

If you concentrate on some matter of importance, the intuitive power will be set in operation, and help will come in the nature of information which will lead you to success.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:22

All mental discovery and attainment are the result of desire plus concentration; desire is the strongest mode of action; the more persistent the desire, the more authoritative the revelation.  Desire added to concentration will wrench any secret from nature.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:15

True conceptions are only secured by spiritual insight.  This insight requires a quickening of the vibrations of the Mind, and is only secured when the mind is continuously concentrated in a given direction.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:3

So it is important to concentrate, and to concentrate on what you want, not what you don’t want, and to do it with desire and emotion.  This raises or quickens the vibrations of your mind.  Mark J says to use enthusiasm!

Then what happens?  There is more to say about vibration, and the subconscious mind:

Vibration is the action of thought; it is vibration that reaches out and attracts the material necessary to construct and build.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:21

The subconscious mind may be aroused and brought into action in any direction and made to serve us for any purpose, by concentration.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:9

Remember that fundamentally the subconscious is omnipotent; there is no limit to the things that can be done when it is given the power to act.  Your degree of success is determined by the nature of your desire.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:25

Subconscious desire arouses the latent faculties of the mind, and difficult problems seem to solve themselves.  Charles Haanel, Master Key System, 17:8

Basically, through concentration we activate the subconscious, bringing to us Intuition, answers, materials, and people – all that which can help us to achieve our definite purpose.

how to give intuition a royal welcome

Here’s my framework for giving Intuition a royal welcome:

1. Relax – as in the ‘Sit’ or meditation.
2. Concentrate on what you want, with desire and expectation.
3. Give Intuition (and her sisters) a Royal Welcome.  Connect with Infinite Intelligence.
4. Listen – Sometimes you may hear a voice, or see a word or picture, the flash of a message in whatever form it comes.  Be ready.  Sometimes it may come later, when you least expect it.  Maybe in the shower, or when you wake up at night.  (Tip: keep a notebook by your bed)
5. Take action on the Intuitive message, and celebrate with gratitude!  In this way you are welcoming and honouring that intuition.  And remember, the more cordial the welcome the more frequent her visits become.
