What to talk about this week? Hmmm.
Well, I did attend an event for my network marketing business last weekend, and I could see some lessons from the weekend that do relate to what we are learning here. I guess everything is related, and if you can see the lessons then you will come out ahead. And of course be a self-directed thinker along the way.
One of my favourite lines from the weekend: “It’s not net-relax-marketing, it’s not net-wait-and-see-marketing, it’s not net-I-hope-someone-else-will-do-it-for-me-marketing – it is net-work-marketing!” So, apply persistent, consistent action towards my goals, right? And of course all the lessons I am learning in The Greatest Salesman in the World, as well as the Master Key lessons.
There were several speakers who shared their stories, which was very inspiring. I could see how what they have accomplished fits in with what we have learned. They had a clear vision of their goal, their “why”, their DMP. They had a definite plan of action to reach their goals, they developed a positive mental attitude, and they surrounded themselves with like-minded people, a mastermind alliance. One speaker shared that he said goodbye to about 30 “friends,” saying “if they weren’t with me, they were behind me.”
All the guests and speakers were very open, sharing their knowledge and expertise (I was looking for specialized knowledge last week and boy I got that in spades!) The Law of Compensation says we must give to get, and I could see how they all did that.
And hearing their stories helps me to believe in myself even more. If they can do it, so can I. They all had challenges to overcome (many more difficult than my own challenges), they all made the Hero’s Journey.
Then this week, I was reading Lesson 23 of the Master Key, and see a line that describes my business:
23.5. You can make a money magnet of yourself, but to do so you must first consider how you can make money for other people. If you have the necessary insight to perceive and utilize opportunities and favourable conditions and recognize values, you can put yourself in position to take advantage of them, but your greatest success will come as you are enabled to assist others. What benefits one must benefit all. Charles Haanel
The speakers from last weekend all helped a lot of other people, all recognized great opportunity and took advantage of it; not just for themselves, but for many others.
Now I have some new heroes, including (past, present and future) Me.
New hereos, including yourself… how wonderful!
