Excerpt of an interview with Level 5 Ambassador Arlene Laskey on our latest edition of Think Big Elite-Talk (aired 2022):
Norbert Oberhauser, host of Think Big Elite-Talk: I have a very special guest with me now, from Canada, Arlene Laskey, who will share with us how she become a Lyconet Rising Star. Arlene, how does it feel to be here today?
Arlene Laskey: I am thrilled Norbert, thanks for inviting me here.
Norbert: Forgive me for being blunt, but you have gone from being stuck at Career Level Zero for many years – to promoting to Career Level Five Lyconet Ambassador within a year. Kind of like an overnight success after a long sleep! Can you tell us a little about that?
Arlene: For sure. That is the way it seems, but even while I seemed stuck, I was percolating ideas, learning, planning, seeing and feeling success in my mind. Really, everything begins with thought, in the mind. So first I succeeded in my mind, then it became a reality.
Norbert: Very interesting, how did you go about that?
Arlene: Well, when I joined Lyconet I was a really good shopper, but not a great team-builder. That changed when I participated in a course called the Master Key Experience (MKE). I have always been a student of self improvement, and through the MKE, I learned more about the Laws of the Mind and how to create my own reality, and the success I now enjoy. It was a turning point in my life, when I learned how I could change my life by changing my thoughts.
Norbert: Amazing, can you tell us a bit more about that?
Arlene: Thanks Norbert, yes, it is amazing. This course, the MKE, is based on teachings from over 100 years ago! Though I had heard about the Law of Attraction, I had not put it into practice consistently until taking the course. Through the MKE we learn about the Laws of the Mind, re-training your brain, becoming the architect of your reality, using the power of the subconscious mind, Universal Law and so much more. Once I had my thinking right, I started taking the right actions. Success was then inevitable.
Norbert: Let’s talk about that success. When did it start?
Arlene: After taking the course (and during even), I started to listen to those nudges from the Universe and take “inspired action”. The more I listened to the Universe, the more success came my way. I also took a network marketing course that really helped with the skills of the business. A local group of us set up a wonderful and duplicatable system for training everyone and sharing the business – now we are earning what we want, so we can do what we want to do. That’s Liberty! And we are having a lot of fun together, too.
Norbert: That’s great. What does fun mean to you?
Arlene: We have weekly meetings either in person or online, and we always chat and laugh. Our team is like a family, a community. We have parties, travel to events, and help each other. And now that I’ve reached my income goal and can retire – I have even more time for fun:)
Norbert: That’s great, can you me about your lifestyle and how it has changed.
Arlene: Sure. When I started with Lyconet I was a nurse. I always loved being a nurse – helping and educating people and promoting wellness. But I did not want to work forever! So when I learned about Cashback World, I was pretty impressed that I could get paid for what I had to do anyway – shopping for everyday expenses. Then I learned more about the company and could see the potential for long-term income, and the good that it could do for shoppers, merchants, and other marketers. My finances were not where I wanted them, so I jumped in as a marketer to provide for my future. I love to travel, and now that I am retiring, I have freedom of time and money to travel when and where I want!
Norbert: What is your ideal vacation?

Arlene: I like a variety of travel, and I also like to stay at home, read or watch movies. I love walking Camino’s – my next one is coming up soon, the Camino Portuguese. Walking in nature feeds my soul, and devoting a month or so to walk a Camino is an extra bonus. I also love to pamper myself and my family – like going to Mexico and staying in luxury accommodations, enjoying excursions and sitting by the pool with a cool drink. I really like swim-up bars:). We do at least one or two major vacations each year, and then of course lots of travel to seminars and events. Including an annual Master Key Experience Retreat on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. I am a guide with MKE, and have connected with a wonderful group there, another community of like-minded people.
Norbert: That sounds amazing, Arlene. And you include your family when you can?
Arlene: Yes, I love to include my family in my travel plans, my family is very important to me. I have been with my husband for almost 40 years, and remain very close with both my children. I love to spend time with them whether at home, out doing something active, or traveling. My daughter is my favourite Camino partner.
Norbert: Did you make any big changes in your lifestyle at home?
Arlene: The biggest change would be to retire from my job as a nurse. It’s not something I recommend for anyone to do right away, until you are already earning enough to replace your ‘job’ income. And we were able to take care of our home with some very welcome renovations – including a shiny new kitchen! Oh, and I got a fancy new bicycle too so as well as walking and running I do ride my bike quite often.
Norbert: You are quite active then?
Arlene: Yes, health is SO important to me. Along with my business goals, I always set personal fitness goals, and consider myself to be in perfect health. I am proud to say I can still run marathons and half marathons, and I am in the 60 plus age group now.
Norbert: Fabulous! And what do you do in your spare time?
Arlene: I love my creative projects. Whether it’s creating a website, spreadsheet, training program, or a photobook – it is so fulfilling to express myself creatively. And I am working on my first book, which will be published soon.
Norbert: Impressive! Can you share anything about your book?
Arlene: It is all about the power of optimism and gratitude. It is a blessing to inspire others to improve their lives through positive mindset.
Norbert: Arlene, what is your best advice for someone starting out with Lyconet?
Arlene: Work on yourself first. Mindset is so important. I train my team not only in the basics of Cashback World and Lyconet, but about mindset and the Laws of the Mind. That has made a huge difference in the success of the whole team. Of course attend every event that you can. Do whatever it takes to develop confidence, power, desire. Make positive habits. Take inspired action. Be open to opportunity, magic, and miracles! Assert your claim and take possession of your success. Let your light shine! Make it more about how you can help the other person than about the immediate benefit for yourself.
Norbert: Thank you Arlene, I would say that you have certainly been a shining example! We all wish you continued success with Lyconet.
Arlene: Thank you so much Norbert, it has been a pleasure!
